Chapter 2 Why did the “good” democracy win in the “bad” country? Work by S.Y. Kharchenko |

On March 11, 1931, in the USSR there had been prohibited printing and import of the Bible. This book was put on the same footing as the anti-Soviet literature, because it contradicted the ideas of Marxism-Leninism. They were forbidding of smuggling it on the border, as well as drugs and weapons. People were persecuted by the Soviet authorities for their faith in God. In that time there was dangerous occupation to have a Bible at home and participate in Christian meetings. You could get up to 10 years of a prison for dissemination of the Bible at that time. But the Lord God is doing everything necessary so His word came till people who seek for truth, who love truth and live by conscience. To correct this situation there was “happened” glasnost and perestroika on one sixth of the earth and then falling of the USSR. Our defeat in the Cold War was inevitable.
The collapse of the USSR cannot be explained only as a result of Gorbachev's betrayal; people did not stand up to defend their country. This is as a period of “thaw” in the reign of Khrushchev. In the eyes of the patriot that period was a negative period of the history of our country, because, like in the 90s, birth rates abruptly decreased; mortality increased, and they began to engraft the ideas of consumerism and fetishism in the Soviet society. But the people had sensation of free at that time because control of the Communist Party over life of people and the state of minds was weakened. And only in 1988 there was radically changed religious policy of the Soviet State. The Bible began to be more and more accessible for the common man with this year. For example, I could buy a Bible, only in 1995, and with this year it became with a manual for me. The Orthodox translation is the best Russian translation for the study of the biblical text. And here we must pay tribute to England again. In 1804 itinerant English preacher Thomas Charles became an initiator of creation of the biblical society globally; it was called: “The British And Foreign Bible Society”. “Voluntary donations were coming in from anywhere with extraordinary rapidity, and during 10 years of activity, this company adopted a wide sweep”. Translations of the Bible which were made with this Society, often, were the first books in the language of those peoples for which they were made. [1] “The Russian branch of “The British And Foreign Bible Society” was appeared in 1812, after a war with Napoleon”. [2] Therefore, it is not surprising that “idea of translating of the Scriptures into Russian language was born not in the Russian Church, or hierarchy, or the people, but... in England, which is a nest of all heresies, sects and revolutions and came out with the Biblical Societies from there”. [3] If the United Kingdom was conquering new and new countries, transforming them in the colony in the past, and English missionaries have evangelized them immediately, then now, the USA has taken its place, “there is no new thing under the sun” (Eccl.1:9). There was changed a form and names, but essence stayed the same. Now the United States “democratizes” new and new countries, conducting a total brainwashing. As a result, we see religious unity of these countries, which is the worship to the Great American god. It turned out that the world of colonialism had not disappeared with collapse of empires; it took a new form. The modern colonies have a dependency from the winners, like as the colonies had a dependency from the mother country in the past time. For example, in our country, as it befits a colony, the state apparatus is half-occupation one, we are forbidden to have our own ideology, it is forbidden even to discuss the issues of sovereignty. Now, it becomes clear why at the end of XX century the strongest superpower, suddenly, surrendered at mercy of winner, and, in fact, became a colony of the Anglo-Saxon civilization. Another man exclaims: “If it is acting previous scenario in the world, then where are English missionaries in our country? Where are they? And they had been already! And they have already made their work. In 1991, the American advisers, having arrived in Russia, have created our state for several years. All basic laws were written according to their dictation. They had created a mechanism of external control of the country. Circus left, but we have one shepherd, the great expert on color democracy, someone МcFaul, the U.S. Ambassador. And therefore, Americans manipulate with the officials and write the Russian laws in our time too. [4] If earlier in colonial countries there was English evangelization, now this work is called American democratization. But its essence has not changed. The Lord God allowed our defeat in a Cold war to change our country. Only after it His word became available to every person in the country. And it is essence of the changes. In the world there is no value greater than His word. It enables us to see the past and the present, gives an understanding of the entire course of history and calls the dates of significant developments. And most importantly, it can revive a man. “If you have the Bible you have everything you need”. [5] As for our material and human losses, any man passes the Tests in the world. Even people living in the “prosperous” countries make their Choice. And, it is always such difficult that there is no difference where man lives, in what kind of family, or country. And the biggest loss in this world is a loss of eternal life. Changes which have occurred in our country will soon happen in the Arab countries too, because the people who are living there do not know the word of God. For example, in Saudi Arabia the owner of the Bible will be arrested and deported. Similarly it is in Iran. And if a person comes out from Islam, and begins to preach Christianity, he will be sentenced to death. [6] How do you think, after such a tough control over the life of the people, and such attitude to the Bible and the Bible preach, whether “democratization” will come in those and similar countries? Of course! Firstly, there will be “orange revolutions”, such as the “Arab spring”. We see how the whole Arab world of this region starts to disturb. Number of countries where governments are subjected to strong pressure from the West grows. And this is only the beginning. The Anglo-Saxons shake up the entire Middle East and Africa. But the most democratic country Israel will not remain aloof from these events as well. Why? Because they don’t do by His laws and statutes even to this day (Jer.44:10). They are incinerating the New Testament publicly. The Lord is waiting revival of Israel, but without result still. And therefore: “She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire”. (Ezek.24:12) Even the forthcoming test “in the fire”, a war, disaster, complete destruction of Jerusalem will not remedy them. And therefore “a pot of the Middle East and the North Africa has been put on fire... gin of Islamic fascism has been released out of a bottle”. [7]
And Uncle Sam, meanwhile, will monitor who will take the upper hand in Arabic terrarium. “Uncle Sam has no new scenarios. Therefore, they shake off dust from their old scenarios of the World War I and the World War II, and begin to appoint performers on the main roles of the world repartition initiators”.
Now there is a necessary to figure out, what are relationships between the Orthodoxy translation and the King James Bible? The perfect Bible is English only, and therefore, any translation from this text into another language will contain inaccuracies; it is inevitable. The perfect translations in many languages cannot exist, even if the translation is done by people who were very skilled and knowledgeable. This is really the main requirement, but it is not the most main requirement to the translators of the Bible. The first place takes the moral qualities of translators; it is this feature determines the existence of two extremes: there are the Bibles with a good translation and there are the false translations.
